The last year’s runner-up has retained a total of 19 players and bought 5 more in the auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore have been in limelight for various reasons since the eve of the auction.
Mitchell Starc: The first major blow for the Bangalore came when the left arm pacer pulled out of this year’s IPL one day before the auction. They bought Tymal Mills for Rs.12 crore as Starc’s replacement in the auction.
The absence of Captain: The next big blow came in the form of Virat Kohli who could miss around two weeks of cricket due to his shoulder injury.
KL Rahul: The next up in the list is KL Rahul who has been ruled out of the tournament due to left shoulder injury.
AB De Villiers: The star South African batsman is also in doubt for the tournament opener because of his back injury.
Sarfaraz Khan: The young sensation is the latest addition to the list of injured players. He injured his leg during practice and has been ruled out of IPL 2017.
In absence of Virat Kohli and De Villiers being a doubtful starter, all-rounder Shane Watson has been named the interim captain of the side.
